Newborn Leonidas

I had the pleasure of meeting my dear baby nephew Leo in Virginia soon after he was born and photographing him with his loving and doting parents. So grateful to capture this special time!

Leo, you are so dearly loved! Congratulations, Derrick and Jacque!

Anne and James are Having a Baby!

I photographed Anne and James, who are expecting a child literally any moment now! I love capturing this very special time for a couple: the anticipation in the eyes, the shared glow of parental love, and best of all, the beautiful pregnant belly. I must nominate Anne and her belly for most gorgeous pregnancy ever. Truly, she is downright stunning.

And as you can tell, quite easily, from the pictures below, this child will be well loved.

This enormous tree in their backyard is something else.

Perfect roundness...

Love the burst of sunlight through this feathery birch tree.

James is an expert in making Anne laugh...

Just... Wow...

Leo's 100th Day

Grace and David have happily welcomed a second son, Leo, into their family and I had the opportunity to photograph them all together, to commemorate Leo's 100th day. (In Chinese culture, the 100th day of a newborn's life holds special significance and it is traditionally celebrated as if an annual birthday.)

Looks like Leo is ready for karaoke!

Grace's mother was visiting from China. I love this moment here with the two of them tending to the baby.

Very happy grandmother...

Leo was fond of sticking his tongue out, just like his older brother when he was a baby!

Oscar is now two years old now and full of personality...

Lots of personality!

I absolutely loved this series of Grace and Leo with this immense and beautiful tree. Not unlike the love this family shares for one another...

Welcome Baby J!

There's nothing more precious and awe-inspiring than a newborn baby. I had the pleasure of photographing Baby J when he was a mere three weeks old. As cute as they may be, newborns can be somewhat unpredictable to photograph... I had visions of capturing lots of curled-up sleepy baby images, but Baby J had something else in mind - he was literally awake for the entire time I was there! He had pretty amazing eye contact for such a little guy, I was impressed.

Baby J is simply adored to pieces by his entire family, and his parents are beyond thrilled...

I love how this photo reflects how he is the focal point of the family!

Baby J's father had quickly become an expert at calming him down...

The intense bond between mother and baby and the immense love a mother has for a child is so clear here...

It's like Baby J is saying, "protect me, mama!"

And this is how we knew the photo shoot was over...

Now They Are Four...

When I was in Virginia I had the opportunity to photograph some dear friends of mine, who are now a family of four. Erica and Jeff welcomed their second son, Dylan, into the world last December. Big brother Logan has sure grown up since last I photographed him...

We took these photographs just before sunset at a lovely, little park in their neighborhood. What a gorgeous family!
