Alison and Eric

I'm so thrilled to share Alison and Eric's wedding photos. It took place in beautiful Virginia and their ceremony was one of the most unique and touching I've witnessed. Also, this wedding was special for me as Alison and I have known each other since we were 8 years old!

Alison is one of those people who is talented at everything. So, of course she undertook every single wedding detail, including making all the desserts from recipes of her own design. Her now husband Eric is a writer, also quite talented, and I cannot think of a better match for Alison. I wish them the very best!

Many thanks to my brother Jason who second shot with me. The second to last photo is his and it captures so well the love between Alison and Eric.

Definitely check out their ONLINE SLIDESHOW!

Alaya & Christian at Big Sur!

I recently photographed the wedding of Alaya and Christian at beautiful Big Sur, CA. It was a very special wedding—or perhaps elopement. The couple kept it very intimate, sharing and celebrating with four friends, one of whom officiated. It was quite a treat to be able to photograph the ceremony so close, and an extra bonus that Alaya and Christian are awesomely fun people and totally in love—which made my job easy! From looking at the pictures, you would never guess the torrential rains the day before and a washed-out dirt road nearly ruined my plans to be there! As you can see, everything worked out perfectly and right before the ceremony, the fog cleared and the sun shone happily while Alaya and Christian said “I do.”

And check out their online SLIDESHOW.

Joan & Lindsay

A while back, I attended the commitment ceremony between Joan and Lindsay, two lovely ladies whom I met at JMU during my freshman year on the Women's Rugby team . I was roommates with Joan during our senior year; we lived at 95 1/2 Franklin St., possibly the best address ever! We had a pink flamingo displayed in our window (because we had no yard) and when I drove through Harrisonburg last year, it was still there! (I had emphatically told the next years' residents they were not allowed to remove it.)

More to the point, Joan and Lindsay's ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Joan is a graphic design artist and all the wedding stationery/programs/etc. was designed by her (I'm assuming!). Their colors were red, white, and black; classy but with spark. Joan completely surprised Lindsay by walking down the aisle in a striking red dress. (Lindsay had thought Joan's dress was white.) They were married at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, NJ. Almost immediately after the ceremony, the DJ kicked it off with some upbeat tunes and the dance floor was occupied the entire night. Everyone had a blast :) Pictured break dancing, below, is Marc, whom I went to elementary school with!

Unfortunately, John, Jennifer (WXJM legend), and I were stuck in some major traffic on our way up north (as if we hadn't lived in Northern VA the past decade or more and known about what the roads are like on Friday afternoons!) We just barely made it before they walked down the aisle. After my nerves calmed, I enjoyed witnessing their exchange of commitment. Joan and Lindsay have been deeply in love with each other for almost 8 years now; they really have something spectacular. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Lynn and Noah's wedding

Here are some images from Lynn and Noah's wedding, which took place at the National Cathedral. It was a beautiful, beautiful ceremony. Lynn is John's step-sister, but actually, I knew her before I met John! We were in the same 7th grade math class (I'm pretty sure). Anyways, Lynn met Noah in college in Florida a while ago, and they've been a happy couple ever since! Best wishes to you two :)

Christine and Nate at Meadowlark...

Take a look at Christine & Nate's SLIDESHOW!

Christine and Nate, the awesome couple I photographed in July, were married at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA. The day was particularly special because their good friend Gary married them in the ceremony. The event was catered by Well Dunn Catering and the food was fantastic. Many thanks to my friend Pete for being my assistant. I really enjoyed capturing their wedding day; all the flowers were just so fun! Here are some highlights:
